At Steinel Ammunition, every round is crafted with precision and care. That same attention extends to how we ship your orders. We prioritize timely, safe delivery while ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
Shipping Overview
- Business Days: Orders ship Monday through Friday (excluding holidays). In-Stock orders placed before 3:00 p.m. ET will generally ship the same business day. During peak periods, shipping may take longer due to high order volume.
- Carrier & Address: All ammo shipments are sent via UPS Ground to a physical street address. Federal law prohibits shipping ammunition to P.O. Boxes.
- Stock Availability: We keep our inventory up to date, but if an item is out of stock or oversold, we will notify you in a timely manner and work with you to provide a replacement or refund.
Legal Compliance & Documentation
Shipping ammunition requires adherence to federal and state laws. Buyers are responsible for knowing their local regulations. Certain states require additional documentation (IDs, permits, FOID cards, or FFL registration) before an order can be shipped. Orders missing required documentation will be placed on hold and may be canceled if proper verification is not provided within 7 days.
Age Requirements
Federal law requires that you must be:
- 21 or older to purchase handgun ammunition
- 18 or older to purchase rifle ammunition
Steinel Ammunition verifies age and documentation where required to ensure compliance.
State-Specific Restrictions
Some states have additional requirements or prohibit shipments altogether:
- No shipments allowed: Alaska, Hawaii, Washington D.C.
- ID/permit required: Connecticut, Illinois, Massachusetts, New Jersey
- FFL / registered seller requirement: New York, California
Please ensure you provide all necessary documentation prior to or shortly after checkout. If documentation has been submitted in advance, include a note in your order stating “Required documents on file”.
Order Cancellation
- Orders can be canceled before shipment by contacting our customer service team.
- If an order cannot be fulfilled due to missing documentation or legal restrictions, it may be canceled after 7 days.
- Refunds for canceled orders will be processed promptly to the original payment method.
