This 44 Special was developed for self defense with modest recoil. Performance is great through short barrels, while velocity improves slightly with longer barrel lengths. The 180 grain Horandy XTP is a “meat and potatoes” cup and core projectile with proven performance- even when loaded short of 44 Magnum velocities.
