Description

Massive. Subsonic. Merciless.

Now available in both 45-70 Ammo in Brass and Nickel-plated cases, offering the same proven performance with added flexibility based on your shooting environment and preference.

Introducing the Triple 7 Lucky Ram our heaviest 45-70 load ever, launching a 777-grain Hi-Tek coated hardcast projectile at subsonic speeds. Designed for lever guns and single shot rifles, tuned for suppressed performance, and built to hit like a freight train without breaking the sound barrier.

Our Lucky Ram offers unmatched momentum and terminal stability, cutting through bone, brush, and barriers alike. Whether you’re breaching, hunting, or simply demanding the quiet authority of extreme mass, the Lucky Ram stands alone in its class.

Engineered with meticulous balance and bullet weight rarely seen in the field, this round brings serious power—with attitude.

Take a look into our mold-making process!

The 777gr Lucky Ram wasn’t just a one-and-done concept—it’s the result of extensive R&D across dozens of prototypes. We tested bullet weights ranging from 730 grains to 802 grains, analyzing performance in both suppressed and unsuppressed lever-action rifles and Encore barrels chambered in 45-70 Government.

Throughout testing, we evaluated:

  • Various nose profiles for optimal feeding and stability
  • Multiple meplat diameters to balance frontal impact and reliability
  • Multiple base diameters from .457 to .4585 to balance pressure, obturation, and accuracy
  • Slick-sided vs. traditional lube groove designs, with both coated and conventionally lubed variants
  • Hi-Tek coatings in different formulas for consistency, hardness, and fouling resistance
  • Bullet lengths and overall cartridge lengths (OALs) tuned for smooth lever-gun cycling
  • Bore-rider diameter to accomodate all lever gun models
  • Different alloys and BHN (hardness) to ensure terminal performance and proper obturation

Built for Modern Actions Only

This ammunition is designed exclusively for modern 45-70 rifle actions and is NOT Trapdoor safe.

Recommended platforms include:

  • Modern Marlin lever guns
  • Henry lever actions
  • Ruger-made 45-70 platforms
  • Thompson Center Encore Rifles
  • Modern single-shot rifles

Due to the extreme projectile weight and specialized load characteristics, shooters should ensure their rifle platform is suitable for heavy subsonic 45-70 ammunition.

Ultimately, our final 777gr design was chosen for its rock solid reliability, exceptional performance, and consistency at subsonic velocities. Whether you’re shooting suppressed or not, this round delivers energy and control you can count on—backed by actual testing, not guesswork.
