Description
This is Steinel’s newest load for your X-Frame 500 S&W Magnum, BFR Revolver, Encore barrel, or Big Horn Armory Model 89 lever gun. This hard cast “soup can” load achieves 1,860 FPS from 20″ barrels and is extremely consistent. The 440 grain Wide Flat Nose Gas Check bullet has an extremely wide meplat and is a perfect option for big game hunting and defense. At this price point it also serves as a (relatively speaking) reasonable target round. An aggressive roll crimp and a large surface area ensure that the bullets stay put under heavy recoil.
As with all of our 500 S&W Magnum loads: not for the novice shooter– recoil is punishing.
