Description

This is a hard-hitting 10mm Auto 220gr Hard Cast load that excels in penetration and accuracy.

This 10mm Auto 220gr Hard Cast RNFP load was developed for shooters who prioritize deep penetration and reliable terminal performance. Loaded with a 220-grain Hi-Tek coated hard cast projectile, this cartridge combines substantial bullet weight with full-power 10mm velocities to deliver the momentum and straight-line penetration that hard cast ammunition is known for.

While many shooters successfully use hard-cast bullets in factory Glock barrels, Glock has historically discouraged the use of unjacketed lead bullets in its factory rifling. Factory Glock barrels may accumulate lead more quickly than conventional land-and-groove barrels and can produce less-than-optimal accuracy with some hard-cast bullet designs.

For the best accuracy and easiest maintenance, especially at extended distances, we recommend an aftermarket drop-in barrel with conventional rifling. This is particularly beneficial if you intend to shoot hard-cast bullets regularly or beyond approximately 20-25 yards.

Performance Characteristics

The combination of a 220-grain projectile and full-power 10mm velocity creates a load that excels in situations where penetration is the primary objective.

Key characteristics include:

  • 220gr Hi-Tek coated hard cast bullet
  • 1,280 FPS muzzle velocity
  • Pressure tested within SAAMI specifications
  • Excellent penetration potential
  • Reliable feeding RNFP profile
  • New Starline brass cases

Firearm Compatibility

This load functions well in most properly maintained 10mm Auto pistols.

While many shooters successfully use hard cast ammunition in factory Glock barrels, Glock has historically discouraged the use of unjacketed lead bullets in factory polygonal rifling. Factory barrels may accumulate lead more quickly than traditional land-and-groove barrels and may not always deliver optimal accuracy with certain hard cast bullet designs.

For shooters who frequently use hard cast ammunition, particularly at extended distances, an aftermarket barrel with conventional rifling may provide easier maintenance and improved accuracy.

Recommended Applications

  • Woods Carry
  • Backcountry Defense
  • Hunting Backup Sidearm
  • Outdoor Recreation
  • Range Training
  • Penetration-Focused Shooting Applications

Important Note

Due to the substantial penetration potential of this load, it is generally not recommended for personal defense applications in populated environments. Shooters seeking a dedicated self-defense load should consider an expanding hollow-point design better suited for controlled penetration.

20 Rounds

Penetration with this round is excessive for self-defense.   Our self-defense round is here.
