Description
This is our 45/70 load with the terminal performance of Maker’s Solid Copper Hollow Points, with a flatter-shooting, faster 250gr bullet. In 18″ barrels velocity is 2,000 FPS and like our 300gr SCHP load, the petals of the projectile spread out to 90 degrees at velocities achieved beyond 120 yards. The profile of this bullet is safe in tubular magazines, yet its construction facilitates penetration on tough hide. This and the awesome expansion is perfect for deer-sized game.
This load is not suitable in Trapdoor Springfields as the pressure exceeds what those old rifles were designed to handle. It is safe in all modern 45/70 firearms. The overall length allow proper cycling in lever action rifles and use in Magnum Research’s BFR Revolvers.
